You already know the answer, which is yet more evidence that the 21st century church has all the weight of a bag of hot gas.

Why is it that if a man shoots the perpetrator of a school shooting he’s a hero, but when Paul Hill saved the lives of many more children by shooting an abortionist he’s a criminal? Christians don’t usually have time to ponder such questions because they’re busy attending pole dancing evangelism workshops or clown eucharists or pet anointings or devoting their time to video game tournament ministries.

Now I need to compliment Doug Wilson, because he said something very good: "Getting souls into heaven apart from politics has been the unique American truncation. The most ardent evangelical lobbyist in DC is nothing compared to the millennium and a half of established churches, a practice which American Christians successfully rejected for the first time in the history of Christendom." How very un-evangelical.

Compare to Richard Land, who is very typical of the modern Judeochristian. The first sentence from this article says it all: "Since our beginning as a nation, the American experiment has intertwined the religious character of its citizens with the religious neutrality of the state." Oh, really? Is that why 10 of the 13 colonies had established churches? Two of the first neo-American triumphs that Land lists are the abolitionist movement and the civil adultery movement. (Don’t forget what I said about the true White supremacist using blacks as props for his own moral authority and judging his own success on how well-liked he is by those who are outsiders and who must, by necessity, remain outsiders.) This chief among baptist leaders actually says that Christians should not "pine for a return to some kind of ‘Christian’ era in America’s past" but should seek "a healthy pluralism in which all views are allowed, encouraged, and respected." The mind reels. And this impostor has the audacity to says that Massachusetts Bay governor John Winthrop "is no role model for civil leadership today" because "his Puritan vision of God’s providence did not allow for the concept of democracy." Please tell me this is a joke. This is what happens when Christians reject theocracy. There are only two choices: theocracy or democracy. The voice of God or the voice of the people. The latter always needs a focal point, and any golden calf will do.

What follows is a passage from Integration Denies Grace, by T. Robert Ingram (pp. 78-82). It fits very nicely with what Rushdoony taught about the church of the first century being ethnically segregated.

Through all his epistles Paul hammers away at the betrayal of Christ which is involved in the preaching of certain so-called Judaizers who came out from Jerusalem who would tell the Gentile Christians they must become one with the Jewish community. This argument runs so powerfully through all the New Testament, endorsed by James, sometime Bishop of Jerusalem, as well as by Peter and Paul and John, that it is too well known to be labored any longer.

Yet the other side of the coin is all too often missed completely. While it is clear that nothing shall be required of Gentiles to become Christian, and while they must remain converted Gentiles in order to bear witness to the sufficiency of the grace of Christ, it is equally certain that the Jews remain converted Jews. If faith alone is sufficient for a Gentile, faith alone is sufficient also for a Jew. Moreover, the law, which sets apart the Jewish community, is neither annulled nor disavowed by faith. So Paul tells the church at Corinth: “Is any man called being circumcised?”

Here is the two-pronged policy of the Apostolic Church when confronted with a bi-cultural world—a world divided between two vast racial groups, Jew and Gentile, circumcised and uncircumcised. Let each remain what he is. Christ is enough for either. Any other procedure is to annul the force of pure faith in the Lord of all life.

It is the second prong of this policy which has so confused most modern Gentile theologians. They have completely missed the point that it was equally necessary under the Jerusalem settlement for the Jews to remain Jews as it was for the Gentiles to remain Gentiles. Only thus can their unity in Christ be clearly shown to be only in Christ. The wall of partition between the two peoples, which Paul says has been broken down, is clearly not a smashing of worldly barriers, but a surmounting of them through common faith in Christ.

James and Paul were never at odds on this point. But each was equally adamant in maintaining the position of the particular community where he was set to work.  Paul, the Apostle to Gentiles, was never more vigorous than in insisting that the Gentile Christians remain Gentiles, and that they not be circumcised and come under Jewish law. James at the same time, whose Apostolate was in Jerusalem with the Jews, supported a relentless program under which the righteousness of the Jewish Christians exceeded the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees. Indeed, even Josephus, a turn-coat Jewish writer, remembers James for a piety that became a by-word. He says the Apostle’s knees were calloused from constant praying.

Any other policy than that discussed above was unthinkable. If becoming a Christian meant renunciation of the glorious Jewish culture which had survived at least 1200 years of ups and downs in this world, then it meant for a true Jew a denial of God’s whole revelation through the chosen people… Paul, himself a Jew, goes to Jerusalem near the end of his life and makes a public show of his own rigid adherence to the law. James and the elders counseled him so to do… So they were to remain, as they did, two separate and distinct communities, apart in this world, separated by ancient customs, loyalties, family ties, and the powerful mystery of what we call race. We know that Paul’s daring display of his Jewishness failed, and ended in his imprisonment: not because of what he did, but because it gave opportunity for his opponents to accuse him falsely and to stir up the mob into frenzy…

Nonetheless, the Holy Ghost and the Apostles agreed that any policy which would result in destruction of the Jewish community or the Gentile community to establish a new single so-called Christian community in and of this world was tempting God, a denial of the sufficiency of the Cross of Christ and an abandonment of faith. The whole family of Christ had to include Jewish and Gentile members. The Christian fellowship superseded the old ties, but did not eliminate them.

Christians love to apologize to Jews for any aggression whatsoever committed by any Christian at any time in history. But has there ever been a rabbi who has apologized for Jewish involvement in Communism, which took the lives of tens of millions of Christians? No, not a single one. I repeat, not a single one. In 1918 and 1919, there were 556 high-level functionaries of the Bolshevik state in Russia. Ethnically, 17 of these were Russian. Two were Ukrainian. Eleven were Armenian. Thirty-five were Latvian. Fifteen were German. One was Hungarian. Ten were Georgian. Three were Polish. Three were Finnish. One was Czech. One was Karaim. Four hundred and fifty-seven were Jew. On the Central Committee, two were Russian. The other 11 were Jew. Let us once again ponder the fact that not a single rabbi has ever apologized for this.

It’s not exactly "Blowin’ in the Wind," is it?

Doug Wilson and the college he founded are the subjects of an unusually flattering piece in the New York Times. A couple of lines caught my eye. Wilson states his purpose: “We are trying to save civilization.” His students say: “We want to be medieval Protestants.” Wilson says he would like to vote for Jefferson Davis. But the liberals then try to tar him with association to two of my favorite men, R.L. Dabney and R.J. Rushdoony. That’s when Wilson starts waving his arms and ululating, and shows that his idea of saving civilization includes race-mixing, kissing up to Jews, and - for all his talk about "living faith" - denying that God’s laws should be enforced in his lifetime. He likes to push that goal 500 years into the future so that he doesn’t run afoul of the laws being enforced now in the absence of God’s laws. (For instance, in Britain today, the maximum punishment for denouncing faggotry is longer than the average punishment for rape.) This is nothing new, of course, and Wilson is certainly not unique. Hypocrites have always escaped to lily-white enclaves to build their ivory towers. But let’s not be silly and call this saving civilization. Saving civilization is dangerous and dirty work. Just ask a medieval Protestant.

Doug Wilson is largely responsible for the Federal Vision controversy that has Reformed Christians arguing about how to define justification. It’s really an extension of the disagreement decades ago between two great men, Cornelius Van Til and Gordon Clark. That controversy was over knowledge. Clark argued for the primacy of knowledge, but Van Til said knowledge of God and of ourselves has not been unaffected by sin. Total depravity is total. We are not able to understand God’s revelation apart from His Spirit. Our thoughts are analogous to God’s but not exactly like His. "Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him" (Matthew 11:27).Clark replied that if God has truth and man has an analogy of the truth then man does not have truth. And so Clark and his followers denied that Van Til and his followers had a correct understanding of justification, for understanding it, they said, is everything. The battle continues to the present day. Here’s a fun experiment: Walk into a Reformed church and use biblical language like "obedience of faith" or "baptism saves," and measure how long it takes for someone to say that you shouldn’t talk that way. They have reduced living faith to a cold science. They don’t even like the word "faithfulness" because it implies doing on the part of the one who has faith. Some of you, who aren’t familiar with this, may think I’m exaggerating.

Our friend Ehud found a very interesting quote from Dr. Clark on Titus 1, the "racism" chapter: "[T]hose who caused the most trouble in Crete, and elsewhere, were not polytheistic pagans: They were Jews… [T]he trouble in the church was not pagan sexual immorality, but Jewish greed for money. Jews are often thought of as greedy… The Cretan churches contained both Jews and native Cretans. Here the Jews caused the most trouble. They above all could be called fallacious reasoners… After reading this denunciation [that Cretans are always liars, gluttons, and evil beasts], one may ask, Do pastors today imitate Paul? Few dare to do so. Yet, Paul in I Cor.11:1 commands us to imitate him." And if it was difficult to find a pastor 50 years ago who had the stones to imitate Paul and denounce Jews, you can guess how difficult it is now.

The sequel to Pirates of the Bible is out. It’s called Dead Men’s Bones. Who cares about debates over justification when we can study the twelve steps to financial freedom or the seven steps to a slimmer waistline? I just can’t understand why men hate going to church. The churches are trying to rectify this problem, not with sound doctrine but with pole dancing and sex tips.

The Industrial Revolution came about through "nonviolence, literacy, long working hours and a willingness to save," and economists are surprised that such virtues are not found everywhere. After 200+ years of the revolution, we can declare with certainty that urbanism and industrialism do not breed the virtues that made them possible. The Industrial Revolution was forged in the crucible of Christian agrarianism, and even then it needed a particular island people at a particular point in their history. Rushdoony taught that Europe was made safe by monks who traveled the countryside resolving disputes and administering justice. Rush said this created such a climate of peace that cities literally grew up around Jews plying their wares. So we see that Christians, when mixed with darkness, become their own worst enemies. Yet there is a healthy balance between urban and rural areas to be found in the Old Testament. Rural property was held perpetually by family, but urban property (inside walled cities) could be sold outside the family if someone fell into debt. It was not redeemed in the Year of Jubilee. This created a healthy synergy between change and stability. We could go back to such clean living, free of usury, but that’s the last thing Christians want to do. Let’s not talk about Christians. I don’t want to lose my temper.

I’ve always liked John Lofton. He doesn’t suffer fools gladly. In this very interesting interview, watch him unravel the phony conservatism of Richard Viguerie. I’ve spent decades listening to "conservatives" argue that we need to elect more "conservatives." And of course, all the "conservatives" say they’re Christians. Lofton simply asks Viguerie how his alleged Christian faith has influenced his politics, and the answer is obvious: not at all. In fact, Viguerie denies that ours was ever a Christian nation. His reasoning, as you might have guessed, is that White men owned slaves back then. Isn’t it interesting that phony conservatives always seek the moral high ground by pointing to some perceived injustice against colored people? You’ve seen us define true White supremacism here before, and it is simply when Whites use non-Whites as props or (their favorite) weapons to bludgeon their fellow Whites into submission. A nation of White men and women protecting their own interests (i.e., history) is incomprehensible to Viguerie because, for him, morality is not obedience to God’s law but a measure of how much our colored props approve of us. This is why he says the movement conservatives of a half-century ago were viewed by liberals as (here come the racial buzzwords) "neo-Nazi’s, racists, bigots, etc." How else would a White man denounce something he doesn’t like? "Godless Conservatism will not defeat Godless Liberalism, Richard, because to God they’re just two atheistic peas in a pod."

Tom Piatak with a helpful thought for our non-Christian, racialist friends: "No civilization worthy of the name has ever been defined by atheism." So don’t be a liberal and think that you’re going to invent something new.
