Miranda’s End
He’s a pastor, a Southern leader, a Kinist, a technological guru (attacked nine times per minute by Holy Terrorists), an arch-enemy of the SPLC, and he could have been governor of Mississippi. But did you know that he’s also a rock guitarist? Listen to these new songs from John Cripps’s band, Miranda’s End. Let us know what you think of them. Here’s the new website.
What will we do if the heroes are gone?
And who will lead if we’re left all alone?
Is it too late for a new day to dawn?
Will I once more get to call...this place home?
In an earlier post we commended Dr. Michael Hill of the League of the South for his outstanding comments. Unfortunately, he and John Cripps are not representative of many in the Southern movement. Here is a nauseating message posted to ButternutNews.com in February by Thomas E. Taylor, 2nd Lt. Commander, Louisiana Division, of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
Well folks, another Mardi Gras parade has come and gone and it appears that, for the most part, all went well. I would like to comment on a couple of people who stood out in my mind from the thousands who were in attendance along the route.
First, I would like to say that I was a member of the officers cadre leading the Sons of Confederate Veterans entry in the parade. We had a total of 96 in our entry this year and, except for a very few boos, were treated with cheers and respect the whole route. This isn’t a big surprise because that is our usual reception and we love it.
Somewhere around County Market Supermarket a man (white) stepped out of the crowd and asked me, "Don’t you wish you could have a KKK banner in front of your bunch?" I managed to answer, "No, we hate the people who dishonor the flags that our grandfathers fought and died under!" Not ten yards further along the street we stopped again and the sweetest little girl (black) looked up at me and asked, "Are you good people?" The rifles fired at that moment and frightened her back into the crowd to her mother so I didn’t get a chance to answer her and I have grieved over that every since.
What a contrast in attitude. A white man insulted our flags and entry and a black child asked a question that is so relevant during Black History Month. "Are you good people?" And in their mouth was found no deceit for they are without fault before the throne of God (Rev 14:5). Yes darlin’, we are good people.
That was only slightly less nauseating than this.
"The original peoples were wasted in wars and scattered in migrations and colonization and their places were filled chiefly with Eastern Slaves. [We cannot speak of the spirit of Rome or the culture of Rome] without defining whether the reference is to the Rome of 200 BC or 200 AD." ~ Tenny Frank, History of Rome
Eric Fischer, in The Passing of the European Age, writes that a new civilization never arises where an earlier civilization has died.
"One grows or dies. There is no third possibility." ~ Oswald Spengler, The Decline of the West
